Mother’s Aid

mother cat and kitten

This program provides a Fix-It-Free spay voucher to a pet owner with a female dog or cat that has recently had a litter. HSPS encourages Mother’s Aid recipients to surrender the litter to the shelter where the offspring will be socialized and well-cared for until an adoptive home is found.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)

Feral cats and stray domestic cats contribute significantly to unwanted litters of kittens each year. Our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program is a humane method of managing and limiting the growth of the free-roaming cat population (feral and stray domestic cats) through live-trapping and sterilization. Once sterilized, the feral cat is examined, vaccinated, and returned to its original location and cat colony.
